Stale in here... [Oct. 20th, 2006|02:25 am]

About a week ago a fellow assoicate comes up to me and says, "look at that guy coming in"

The man was quite... eccentric looking to say the least.

"you gotta see what he drove, it's in the handicapped spot out front"

This is where I was at an utter loss of words.

It was a fucking lawn tractor. Outfitted with a trailer. In the pouring rain.

Now of course we totally had better things to do like working but I had to go get everybody else working to come and see it. Similar reactions. It was honestly hard to not laugh hysterically and bring attention to ourselves.

So the guy was apparently walking around the store mumbling incoherently to himself while listening to lord knows what on the cheap walkman he was wearing backwards. He bought some stuff, then proceded to load it all into the tiny little trailer hitched to his 18 horsepower green monster.

We all contemplated on how exactly he got the thing there, our store is in an urban area so unlike out in the boonies where this would be more acceptable... Anyways what little productivity we had was haulted as we sat around and bullshitted about it for what seemed like an hour. We made jokes like he drove it down the major roads holding up traffic and about 54870934908 other hypothetical funny situations.

As I was taking out trash... also known as smashing shit, I looked over and saw him buzzing down the sidewalk with cars stopped at the intersection honking at him. It's possible I might have lost bladder control for a moment it was that damn funny.

To this day, it's still an ongoing joke. One of those things that 8 months from know will be like "remember when that guy drove the tractor here" and a boisterous guffaw follows by all knowing of the incident.

giving this to the store manager... [Jun. 21st, 2006|11:43 pm]

To whom it may concern,

In recent months while working under the management of Jennifer Huntsberry, I feel I have been personally violated and in addition GFS policy has not been properly followed. Recently I was told by a fellow associate that Jennifer told him “If Joe is goofing off that it’s okay to tell him to get in line.” She never said anything regarding the matter directly to me. I believe if a manager has an issue with an associate’s performance that he or she should deal with the offending person personally and in a professional manner. I feel insulted by this incident and I also feel that it was very poor management practice on her part. I am offended that she feels I “goof off” at work when I often times find her in long personal conversations with associates on the clock. Other associates have told me that Jennifer has said negative things about other associates, both professional and personal during such conversations. I can provide examples and witnesses should the need present itself. This event is the most recent in the numbering list of times I felt I have been treated poorly by this manager for no apparent reason.

I feel that Jennifer has a personal dislike for some associates and she lets it influence how she treats them in the workplace, this is not conducive to a productive atmosphere and will decrease employee morale, especially during the busy graduation season.

so i dont know about everyone else, but at our store, we've been having some BIG time problems with one of our managers... shes one of those people that will turn on you in an instant to save her own skin and look good for her bosses and then when they are gone, she will turn to you and deny everything and suck up until she is on your good side again... only to do it again in a week.

when this "reminder" of the no open food rule came down a few weeks ago she told our general manager and other assistant manager that the associates are the ones that have been opening the food... she told this lie to them a few months ago as well and then preceeded to tell me that she did infact blame it on us... but not to worry because she told the other two to go easy on us...

she talks about other associates behind their backs... she fucks up horribly tho because she tells their friends who are going to tell them... dumb ass...

her favorite thing to do lately is suck up. she does it to anyone that she knows is mad at her. she makes jokes and purposely seeks them out to give them the "one on one" time to make them feel special and like they are the only one important enough to get anything done on that particular shift...

i for one am pretty sick of this bullshit and plan on taking it to our general manager next time i work with him. im sick of her manipulating our associates... our store is on the verge of a breakdown because shes such a fuckup...

So I walk this little old man all the way across and to the back of the store to show him the "fresh orange juice," and it turns out he had actually said fresh oysters.  And, especially after I said that we don't have fresh seafood unless it is ordered specially, he rolled his eyes and quietly walked back out.  Oysters.  Not orange juice.  Idiot.
